Scripting

I downloaded the 6.0b update and the update stalled at the media manager. My system would not continue and I could not cancell the update. To make things worse, I tried to uninstall and reinstall Vegas 6 that stalled too. I eventually had to use system restore and go back to 6.0a. Never had that problem before (ever) and I have purchased every version and update since Vegas 3. Now I'm afraid to try again as I am in the middle of an important project. I have Windows XP professional 2.5 Ghz P-4 512 RAM.
Having done this, I now avoid the temptation and lure of an update during an important project!
If you are anything like me and DON'T have the options of a fall back system, tech people backup, and so on, leave it until you have some downtime. The update will still be available. The Project may not be! Unless you need the "bug-free" version to complete your V6 project - which, of course you can't now open in Vegas5. Still, if at all possible avoid updating mid-project.
Glad you got back to the previous setup! Phew . . eh?
They tried it once. I don't remember which application it was ... maybe Sound Forge 6 ... maybe not. It caused quite a bit of confusion. I'm guessing the simplicity of installing the latest update no matter what you currently have won out over the speed of downloading smaller files.
I recieved my 6.0 by mail and have not installed it yet. I have downloaded the 6.0B. So do I just install straight with 6.0B or do I install first with the Disks and then run the 95Meg update over it? Thanks
Gary
I thought that the 6.0b was a update to my recently installed Platinum edition. However it installed a full movie studio separately besides my Platinum. When I tried to manually set the installation directory same as Platinum it still installed on its own directory. Now I got confused and thougt that using the 6.0b will exclude the feature that made me buy platinum (HD editing)? Is this the fact? If so how to acheive an update to the Platinum/HD-version?
