juan2004 wrote on 5/6/2005, 10:47 AM
Yes of course, In the version "a" build 99 of Vegas 6.0 there are 2 big bugs in the FX Sharp is more a motion effect than sharp effect.

And the Keyframe in the Track Motion in the sub-secctions 2D Glow and Shadow when somebody put many keyframes into the time line in Track Motion window and save the project in extention *veg, WHEN you open again your project the keyframes puted before DISAPPEARS.

These bugs were put in this forum weeks before for a user and now soonly wil be a month since the Vegas 6.0 with bugs including was launched at market.

When Vegas 6.0 UPDATE without bugs will comes??

In May, in July or the next Vegas 7.0 version (April 2006) eh??

We are some annoying and we are awaiting in silence. IT ISN'T SONY PROGRAMMERS???

Speak for yourself.

My guess is it will be released "when it's done."

There is only one non-trivial program in the world that is known to be bug-free.

And, really, a month isn't much time for an update cycle. First you have to sort through all the bug reports and figure out which are due to inidividual system configurations, which are duplicates, and which just aren't bugs. Then you have to figure out which are "stoppers" versus the ones that are just annoying.

THEN -- figure a week for this -- you start going through the code and figuring out what it will take to fix the bugs. Sometimes it's simple -- one of my recent errors was fixed by deleting a couple of lines -- and sometimes the fix requires a major effort.

Even after you've fixed the problems, you have to test everything. So your in-house automated tests and testing team have to pound on the system again. Not just the things you fixed; ideally EVERYTHING gets tested again.

At some point you might give the beta testers a chance at it. That's an iffy propostion. In terms of pre-release testing, users aren't good testers. They're usually careful with betas and pre-release versions and don't really put the code through its paces until they've been told it's "final". After that, though, users are incredibly good at finding the glitches and oversights.

So give them a chance. If they quickly released a "fix" that caused more problems, would any of us be happy?

what is the other non-trivial program?

Donald Knuth's TeX typesetting package. He reported the last bug fixed in 1985, and last I heard was offering $20.48 to anyone who could find another one. The reward may have gone up since then; he was promising to double it each year.

look on your calendar and find the month of "never." Look on the date marked "12."
If the boys in Madison were going to release a totally bug free version of Vegas, it would still be at version 1.
Look Juan, do you think these guys are sitting around drinking coffee and laughing at Comedy Central? They are working diligently on making customers happy, they always have. Go back a year, you'll see the same sort of threads for Vegas 5. Go back two years, you'll see the same threads for Vegas 4.
It's been 2.5 weeks since April 19th when the product launched at NAB. They were at NAB for a week following. Give them a little time to get it happening.
If it were easy, everyone would be doing it.
Relax a bit, it's coming. For most of the weaknesses, there are workarounds.

Juan you mentioned a couple a bugs, the thing is when the update is released there most likely be a list of fixes some of us had not even known were a problem . So its not just a matter of fixing a couple a plugs. Patience, and lets hope they nail it on b.

Also - don't forget that Acid is due for 5.0b very soon...then Soundforge 8.0a (that app REALLY needs a ton of fixes to get it even usable)...then Vegas....so figure a solid 6 weeks or more.....

My money is on a late June/early July release.....

I didn't post that to "anoy" you.

Are you saying that it isn't a fact?
You seem to have complained alot about bugs, that's all I'm saying.
If you want to improve Sony's software so it's more stable for you, you should mention the steps you used to produce a bug. See if others are able to reproduce that bug, then Sony will be able to put it in their "need to fix" list.
Then you will have a more stable product.
For me to come in here and repeat bugs only because others have mentioned them (not because I've encountered them, or have been held back because of them), isn't going to help the Sony developers better the product. I'm not saying that's what you neccessarily did, I'm saying I wouldn't do it.
Juan, you've been visiting these forums for quite awhile. You already know that "b" will be better than "a", and "c" will be better than "b".
SoFo/Sony developers have always been great at getting their products very stable with their updates, in a relatively short period of time.
But you know that already.
