Scrub playback = J, K, or L keys.

Vegas has shuttle control and J-K-L type shuttle behavior.

Vegas 5 does not have the frame type scrub the Premiere has. Something we are considering for a future version.

What technique do you suggest to achieve the kind of control that frame-level audio scrubbing gives you? With JKL, hold K-L and hold K-J combinations I find myself overshooting. Is there a keyboard shortcut for very slow forward/backward scrubbing (always predictable speed, say 1/4 normal)? Finally, could slow crubbing (or just the slow forward playback) be done with pitch preserved a la Time Stretch in Premiere?

I really appreciate your and everyone else's replies.

Hold K and *tap* L, that's 0.25. Now tapping J and L will ncrement/decrement by 0.25 in both directions.

You can also set the default rate under the scrub trackbar, right click for common options.

You can also hold down Ctrl while dragging the trackbar for very slow changes.
