Saving Projects question

I do multitrack commercial production for a living and have been using Acid. Works great for production in that it saves as one simple zip file that I can recall at any time. ]

I would like to use Vegas for multitrack commercial production but when I save a project, it saves as several files that must be all kept together to recall the project for later editing. Ok...here's the stupid question...

Whats the correct way to save a project (with media) for future use preserving all the audio?

Thanks!

I don't know if you can call it the "correct" way but I use File > Save As.. > Check Copy and Trim Media to a folder named for the project. You can then compress (zip) that folder if you like.

If I want to archive and save space I either render each track to a new track using Sony's PCA format first then delete all the original WAV tracks, or use Batch Converter and go through pointing Vegas to all the new files then follow the above. PITA I know, again I wish there was an option to Copy and Trim using the PCA format.

PCA is Sony's lossless compressed format. I get close to a 50% reduction in filesize. You won't gain much if anything compressing (zipping) the PCA project folder, it's already about as compressed as it will go.
