Hardware Access

Does anybody know why Vegas can only see my DVD burner when opened through an Administrator account? More specifically, what settings can I change to have access to all my hardware in a Power User account?

I love Vegas, but this particular quirk is a royal PITA. I can't tell you the number of times I've had a CD ready to burn, only to realize I needed to close down and re-open Vegas in an Administrator account. NONE of my other (non-Sony) applications has this limitation, including my burner software, so I know it's not an OS thing.

Create a Vegas account and grant it more priveledges. It IS an OS thing.

But, I don't understand why my burner software has no trouble accessing the burner, when Vegas does, while signed onto the same account. That would indicate it is most definitely NOT an OS thing, no?

More in how the software sets things up. My specific question is, can Vegas be set to see the burner, too?
