Try checking Preferences/Audio device and make sure it isn't set to some Logic audio thing.

I googled DirectIO.dll error and it all relates to logic audio, so you are probably right.

Vegas is probably trying to load a related device that got corrupted or no longer exists.

Editing the registry MAY be a solutuion but it may not, it depends on what is happening.

You can check your starup folder and also "start/run type msconfig" and check the startup tab.

You could also do a reset of the Vegas settings, but that will delete any custom settings you might have in the prefs.
Or failing that, do a repair install of Vegas.
