Hey guys I am new to the computer music editing software. I just bought acid pro 5.0. what iam tring to do is have one song and am fade it into another song. I did that easily but what Iam wondering is how do you save that to a wav file so it can be burned to a cd?? I recorded it in acid pro and when it is done recording the sound level is so low you can barley hear it. So I just thought it was the software so i tried burning it to a cd within acid pro and when it is finished burning I look on the cdr and there is nothing on the disc.. I see that it burnt somthing on the disc when I took it out... Iam just want to burn it to a cd maybe I can save it to a wav file?? Could it be my sound card? Please help!!

Welcome to the ACID community.

You want to burn a Disc-at-Once Audio CD in ACID.

1. Place your cursor at the beginning of your project and press the N key. (or use the menu item Insert > CD Track Marker) This will place a CD Track Marker at the start of your project.
2. Move to the point in your project that you want the next CD track to start and press the N key again to drop the second CD Track Marker.
3. Continue dropping CD Track Markers until all the tracks have been identified
4. Select Tools > Burn Disc-at-Once Audio CD
5. Fill in the dialog box and press OK

ACID will burn your entire project to CD as multiple tracks just as you want.

Adding to what JohnnyRoy said, you'll want to record as "hot" a signal as possible without clipping. How close can you get according to ACID's monitor meters while recording? Around -6.0 dB is ideal.

I tried recording it with no clipping but still it is recording really low. I think it may have to do with the sound card?

Yes, if the record volume on your sound card is too low, it won’t matter how loud the playback is in ACID. Check the record input level on your sound card and make it louder.

I don't get this comment, where in his workflow does the input volume of the soundcard even come into play?

Thanks,

The soundcard is doing the recording. The soundcard has separate volume controls for input and output. If the input volume on the soundcard is too low the recording will be too low.

Woah guys, you are making this complicated. He just asked how to save to a wav. Go to the file menu and select render as. Select wav as the file option and save it. Its pretty simple. Rendering does not involve the soundcard at all, so you won't need to worry about soundcard record levels and whatnot. The wav should sound just like it does in Acid.

I was reacting to this line in his post:

That to me sounds like his recording through his sound card. If all he wants to do is save to a wave file then I totally misunderstood the problem he was having. I agree, just use File > Render As... and select a wave file.

Jahliam mentioned his recording sounded low in ACID after recording. If Jahliam burns this recording to a CD or renders to a WAV file in ACID, the result will also be low in volume.

Jahliam: What are the track-level volume sliders set at? I'm guessing you have a cut, which would cause the recordings to sound lower in volume, even if you've jacked up your inputs/outputs as far as they will go.

To get the track to match your original recording volume, set the track-level slider(s) to 0.0 dB and see if that helps.
