Selling on Ebay

This week I tried a market test of my slideshow dvd starting with ebay. I had always assumed that ebay would be one avenue of sales along with whatever else I could conjur up.

The test was a moderate sucess. I sold 2 copies in one week but it seemed like a struggle to do so. I listed a 3rd and didnt get any bites. As an ebay newbie, I was advised to build my ratings before listing my A stuff. The disc wasn't the final product but its getting close. At my estimate, I might be able to move maybe 100 copies a year this route, much less than I had anticipated.

Anybody else have experience with this route of distribution.

It takes some skill to sell on eBay continuously. You need to know how to be discovered by search terms that people actually use.

Look at what others are doing and take notes. There are enormous numbers of people making a living off eBay only, but they have more than one product in circulation.

Don't forget Amazon and Netflix also.

100 copies a year sounds about right. I have several dvd's on ebay at the moment and I move about 10 of each dvd/month. If you're going for the niche market, then you need to start building up a repertoire.
