What replaces Batch Converter

Hello everyone.

Does anyone have a viable alternative to Sound Forge Batch Convertor to be used in a large volume professional environment. The demise of Batch Converter has put a large productivity crimp in our product development

I should also add that I am primarily interested in converting audio file formats to MP3.

I used to use AudioActive to do a lot of my .wav to .mp3 conversions -- http://www.audioactive.com/default.htm

OMG !!! What a bullshit software AudioActive, active what?

What is wrong with using LAME encoder? Nothing.
Better quality that Fhg. FREE, more customizable, lots of frontends,ACM codec....
If I was you I'd have look @ hydrogenaudio forums, do a bit of reading and fing yourself THE BEST FREE SOLUTION.
Even the new Pro version of Fhg. Encoder is crap.
I'm just wondering why Sony doesn't give Vegas the freedom to use open source encoders, codecs like XviD,Lame,h263....

Unfortunately Government Security Regulators frown upon me using Freeware. I am really looing for a sustainable Commercial Off the Shelf software or at the least reliable shareware. Any suggestions?
