Can someone break down network rendering?

I've never tried it before, but would like to try considering I just picked up a new laptop and wireless router...

How do the computers connect? Will a wireless 802.11g wireless internet connection work to connect the two computers, or is another piece of hardware required?

If the desktop is the 'main' computer and the laptop is just to help with rendering, which do I set up first? Does the .veg file have to be on both computers or does the second computer just sort of frameserve so to speak along with the desktop?

Good luck explaining...the directions in VV5 don't have color-by-numbers or connect-the-dots instruction...lol

TIA.

Unless your network connections are all 100Mbps or better, don't bother. Very few wireless connections are this fast. With a slower connection you'll end up wasting more time moving data around than you'll save by having multiple computers work on the render.
