Exactly how do I acheive this?

The effect I'm going for is: I'm making a DVD of a bunch of videos I've had sitting on my hard drive for a while. What I want is, on the main menu I'm putting a video of short clips of all the videos at the top of the screen. What I want the video to scroll across the screen from right to left slowly. My gut feeling is I would use track motion to make it look like it's scrolling, and maybe pan/crop to make it thin. I guess I could say I'm a bit lost.

If you've seen the menu on the "Everybody Loves Raymond: Season 1" you'd know what I'm talking about.

My other question is, can you make the background on the pan/crop different than black? Like make it transparent?

Wow, you're a pro. I will try that. I'm still learning how to get the most out of this program. Thanks for your help, I'll let you know if I can't figure it out.

I was wondering if you could possibly put together a very short video clip of what you described so I can make sure it's what I'm looking for. If you don't have time I understand.

There is a veg called Moving Boxes on the VASST file sharing site that does exactly this, so you can deconstruct and see how it's accomplished.

It's a really nice effect. It's not too hard to do and it really does look good, especially when each video box, has a lot of cuts within it.

A nice variation to this would be to add a second crawl on the bottom of the screen that begins as the top crawl is ending then in DVDA set this to a loop and you have a great DVD intro.

AZedit:

Nice effect. Do you have the Veg file?

Spot:

Found it in the Vasst site - BUT - only have V4 here :(
Any chance to convert/save in V4?

Sorry to sound dumb - but how can i lift and drop my video in place of the template you have provided?

Which track does it go on frist? The master or track 1?
