It should. Have you registered the MPEG? That is a SEPERATE registration apart from the application itself, as is the surround sound and the AC-3. So too for the cookie cutter plug-in. Drives you nuts for all the registering...I know. What registration window pops up... if any... depends on if or not you're using a computer that has Internet access. If yours does, fairly painless process. If not... say a prayer first. This is the number one beef I have with SoFo. Registering if you're off line is a royal pain in the ass for some. I've been one of the "lucky" ones that's wasted hours with this sillness.

I already registered the first time I used the custom tab, but after the registration it let me open the custom tab one time, but after that it won't let me anymore. I tried uninstalling the program, but it now doesn't ask me to register any more. I think it stored the information somewhere else on the computer where it could retrieve it later. Weird.

Does anyone know how to compeletly uninstall vegas so it asks all over again to register all of the plugins?

Sounds like you need to 'get down and get dirty' in the Registry!!

There seems to be a problem with that, and it has nothing to do with registration. I fixed the problem after reading one of the threads here (can't remember exactly which). Look in your registry, and make sure it only has these entries, and nothing else. I do remember that one additional entry has to be deleted. Back up the branch (export) before you delete, so you can restore if things mess up.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sonic Foundry\MC MPEG Plug-In\1.0\License]
"CurrentKey"="XX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX-XXXXXX"
"InstFlags"=dword:00000010

(you shoud see letters and digits instead of the X's here...)

I had the same problem a week or so ago, and without knowing of this issue I simply reinstalled 4.0d on top of itself--it worked, and I could access MPEG-2 settings again. Might be worth trying first if you're not comfortable poking around in the registry.

File>Render As>Save As Type =MainConcept MPEG-2>Click on "Custom" to right of that

You should now have tabs for Projeact/Video/Advanced Video/Audio & System with various adjustable parameters.

Thanks. Another question, in the register, there is one line
:(defaul)t"="(value not set)"

Should I delete this line?

Thanks.
