Been offered a Matrox G550 32MB card. Is this one of the top of the range ones for dual moniotr support? Not sure if the 32MB was the entry level one. I've been offered it for $60. Wasn't sure of the low price tag whether this is an old generation etc etc

If anyone has this do you recommend?

I've also heard about the Matrox RTx100 suites but it seems to come with Adobe and i'm not sure what the difference is between the G550 and the RTX 100?
Help?...

Im not familair with the G550 but the RTX100 will serve no purpose in Vegas. Even under Premiere it is very limited in the real time effects. 32MB seems kind of low ( I use a 64MB vid card from Nividia).

But if the sole purpose of buying the card is to see some performance increase with Vegas, then save your cash as it wont increase performance one bit.

i have the matrox g550, it's a killer 2d card for analog crt monitors... none better for the $$$.

it is not designed for video acceleration during editing... i believe that is the job of the rtx100 cards... and if you want to go with an lcd monitor, you should get a video card with a digital output to plug into the lcd monitor.

i would guess that $60 is way too much money for the g550, try doing a search on ebay to see some prices.

yeah i just wanna use it for dual monitor purpose. i think it only comes with 32mb as standard??

in terms of peformane i'm not after that with the card just to expand the screen size of vegas over two screens

if it has dual output capabilities, then Id go for it. $60 sure beats being stuck with having to use one monitor.
