Button Question

Ok, this is what I have. I have a motion menu put together with two Bmp's.
The first picture comes up and then after 5 sec. a shatter effect comes into play and another pctiure comes up with the song titles of the concert All done in photoshop. How can I have the buttons appear after the shatter effect? I know I'm just going to use an image only button next to the text(created in photoshop) on the second picture but I'm not sure how to make the buttons appear around 8 or 9 seconds into the motion menu. I'm kind of babbling but do you understand what I'm looking for?
PS- I would also like the back and menu buttons to appear at the same time.

DVDA doesn't support delayed menu buttons. You can fake this by doing an intro movie and then going to your menu, but the transition may not be seemless (it depends on the player).

Basically your intro would have everything leading up to the shatter effect with the bottons coming up behind, then you transition to your actual menu where you have the buttons.

To construct this, create your menu, then preview it and use the copy-to-clipboard button (with the quality set on best), you can then paste from your clipboard into photoshop or paint, save the image as a file and use it on the vegas timeline to construct your intro clip (this way the buttons don't change position from your clip to your menu unless you move things around on the menu).

You can mask the buttons with and animated mask file,... This makes them invisible till you want to be able to see them.

2 issues w/ this:
1) you can not disable the buttons from being clicked, just invisible... Which is good enough for me, but maybe not in your application.
2.) your highlight color will be visible on your first button at all times. What I have done to get rid of this is: Create the smallest "image only" button you can, and place it outside of the safe area (so as not to be seen on a TV), and make your menu default to this button. (this will throw an error when you prepair your DVD, stating that a button is outside the safe area, but since it's indended to be outside the area, just ignore it.)

I have a post on masking the buttons. Just search for "this is how to delay menu Items"

It explains the masking process incase you are not farmiliar with it.

Or, I've done annother w/ the motion menu completly rendered in Vegas, and created muttons in DVDA of the Pitcure Only type, without actually assigning a thumbnail picture... (this makes portions of your video clickable)

Overlay this to the exact sise of the button, and hiding the default button off screen as mentioned above.

This way is more time consuming with track motion in Vegas, but is less technologically advanced. (incase masking is too rough).

Consequently, rendering this way w/ MPEG2 and AC3... This was the only project I've done where DVDA didn't re-render, re-compress, or otherwise alter a single one of my files (including the menus) which makes for a quick burn when you're done.

Just trying to throw all I know at ya... Mabey something will fit your application, Brian
