OT: Audio Technica 201L sounds tinny...

I picked up the Audio Technica 201 lavalier set and just finished up my first dvd with it. Overall, I pretty satisfied with the performance...the only thing I did notice was that the sound was a bit tinny. Is this normal with these setups?

Depends on the mic placement. This is a really nice low-end microphone, but placement is EVERYTHING. Where was it in relationship to the speaker/sound source?

The mic is on near the bottom button of my polo shirt...about 6" from my mouth I suppose.

And you're sure the phase didn't get messed with in the editing stage? It's placed correctly, so that's not an issue, or shouldn't be. I mean, this isn't a top end mic, but I've worked with it a fair amount, and it's a very decent sounding mic. So, the next step would be to examine the phase. Try converting it to a mono signal, see what happens. (right click/Channels/Combine)
