Unless some info has been leaked, I assumed the resposne to the orignal post was just a joke. Could I be wrong?

I would not expect it until at least 6 months from now, probably more. V5 came out less than a year ago and there is usually 1 year and a half between versions if not more.

I'd be suspicious of a software release at 10:42:47 p.m. on a Saturday night.

I've had V6 for a year now. My Valkyrie also has 6 carbs, and eats gas like a Sherman tank. But it's soooooooooo sweet.

We just primed up our Trigithon ZooZapper and have V2Giga playing your WHOLE World - in virtual space! Neat eh? We got Nested Planets and Z-D Planars and some bald headed geek called Spotskim running riot with the new Drogo-Fly-Eyed HEadset .. . Tera Kooollll...

. . gotta zap .. been here far too long . .. oh yeah . . . . sorry, gotta zap .. been here far too long . ..

He must be in league with Zaphod.

The response was facetious -- Sony is always very tight-lipped about release dates and new features. Save yourself some drama; stop asking.

I was hoping they would upgrade it to a Dos version that works with Webcams on a 486.

What, no TRS-80 support? Now I have to throw it away.

Radio Shack has a tradeup plan for those. I think it is a coupon for a package of batteries.

i am extremely jealous - i want one also

The next version of Vegas, I would suspect is an update that works with HDV. Is Sony going to throw other features into that release like when 4.0b added 24p support, I have no idea. But I would think there would be an update of Vegas 5 shortly and then Vegas 6 halfway through next year.

Tell you one thing...if V6 HAD come out before Acid 5, they'd need paramedics in the other forum...

...or riot cops...

Let's See? I seem to remember that the best and most reliable leaks of the arrival dates and features of Vegas 4 and 5 - were found first at the SCVUG! Need I say More?

I already saw a demo of 6.0. Unfortunately, I cannot recall much about the demo since I saw it during a day dream. I was experimenting with some new time travel mechanism.

I seriously hope that VV6 will include mp4 container support and hopefully include H.264 AVC as well.
