DVX/Pro Tools> VV

Ant tips will help with this workflow. Please bear with me.

On the shoot, Im going to record audio thru a mixer and into Pro Tools LE on my powerbook. This is because we have music feeds from a tower computer and shotgun and lav mics also. Of course we will be feeding the main voice track to the DVX100 also.

Im shooting in 30p with the DVX-100 and the mixer is delivering 48k audio to the camera and the powerbook.

Any tips on the session settings I should use on the Pro Tools LE Powerbook session for timecode given Im shooting at 30p on the DVX?

Also, Right below the timecode rate in PT Session Setup is the feet/frames rate. What should that be set to, or does it matter? The defualt is 24

Any other issues I should be aware of ...like to avoid drift etc?
Someone said if i tracked at 24 bit i risk more drift, is that true?
Its important to, if i can, track at 24 bit because some of the feeds are high quality music (the ones coming from another PT system digiatlly to the powerbbok) that can not be obtained in post.

So, assuming I get all that right, is there any way to post conform the PT laptop audio in VV? In the past, I have done it by lining up audio to video by hand but I know in other NLEs, and in PT, professionals do "post conform".

Given that I am very inexpereinced working with timecosed and multiple systems and the fact that we are not using a smartslate, is there any way to make this easier with my NLE of choice - VV?

The ONLY reason you risk more drift @24bit is that you have extremely different clocks. Conforming this in post with Vegas will be easy regardless. However, because it's DV, you don't HAVE real timecode to work with. Will you have a slate transient? If so, this is even easier.
If your project is 24p, then leave code set to 24 in PT.
