Teleprompter software

I'm doing a video of my son and want him to narrate the 7 minute clip. I was thinking of having him read off the PC monitor, in a teleprompter mode.

Does anybody know of a cheap or free teleprompter PC program? I couldn't find any on the web yesterday (cheapest is >$100).

I was thinking that I could potentially use Power Point to project the script or even do a script roll in After Effects. Still, a teleprompter type program would be nicest and easiest to script and recite.

Thanks,

MarcS

This has been discussed quite a few times in the past. Do a search on "teleprompter" in this forum. I don't know the answer myself, but there were dozens of posts the last time this came up with recommendations for both software and hardware (for through-the-lens teleprompting).

There is a free version that you can download from here->
EZ-Reader

Or rather - I guess it is shareware... and you must pay $50 to register. I got mine with a teleprompter from "prompterpeople.com"

EZ-Reader is actually pretty good. I also got it with a PrompterPeople prompter, and was quite surprised with how comprehensive it is.

if you don't the scrolling credits idea, try scrolling use simple text media with pan control or sliding the text across the screen using trans. swipe.

You could print the script onto paper, record him reading it, then place it wherever you want in the timeline using Split & drag ....
