SPOT! What on Earth IS ACID loop sniffing?

"T" for Takes! For getting "back" stuff I've edited out. Just used it to briliant effect for Audio work.

In the last 4 weeks just flown with ALT+D for Layouts. .. and the F11 key

One of my faves is direct access to Explorer. I've got used to working with it so much that even with V5 subclip improvement, I hardly ever touch the Media pool.

I've just got to grips with Explorer in using a non-plugin s/w SteadyHand. I can now locate a "shaky" clip in Explorer and ask for it to be opened in SteadyHand. Well, I get SH to fire up but it doesn't auto into the SH GUI ... need to look into to that one . . . .

Just been thinking that "Erk" was asking how to bring whole folders of stuff into Media Pool. I supose the "Wright" would be not to bother - yeah? Just use Explorer - period! . . I should have mentioned that one . . . .

Yes indeed, given that I've just ordered your book with a 1,000 loops, I should know how to sniff them - whatever that means. Darryl

A couple others that I use a lot:

Group events, control drag (to match event length to music)

Right click, select events to end (love the script to select all events on all time lines from cursor also)

Ripple edit on, highlight region, delete, Ripple edit off (eliminates gaps quickly)

What script would that be Randy? Where do I get one?

Acid sniffing: I'm guessing this is Vegas' new ability to read tempo and pitch info from acid files.

Ten Key: using the right side of your computer keyboard for event editing (7 and 9 let you edit the left and right sides of an event; 8 and 2, move events up or down on tracks)

bubblevision: "...select all events on all time lines from cursor also" I believe this is Tsunami. I love this one also.

Two more of mine:

1) grabbing the timeline with the mouse and finding exactly where I need to be while looking at the preview;

2) If I'm not mistaken, "undo" will even undo things prior to your last "save." Comes in real handy when you thought you were ready to save, but later realized you liked the way you had it originally.

I love the fact that I can edit png files I'm using in a veg project in Macromedia Fireworks and have the changes show up immediately on the Vegas timeline.

Mouse wheel zoom is also extremely useful to me, as well as the ability to copy event attributes and paste them into other events.

And a more flexible version (with many more options) can be found in Tsunami with the ability to also select all before cursor, include the events under the cursor (or not), split at the cursor position, select only within a selection area, select only on the currently selected tracks ......

One small but useful thing is the Track Motion Presets. It's really handy sometimes to be able to save your settings and then load the preset back in another spot so you don't have to waste time recreating what you've already done.

Oh, wait... I forgot.... those aren't there anymore.
