Options>Grid Spacing
or
Options>Ruler format

Depending on how you'd like it to look. You can't set a grid to ONLY every 4 seconds for instance, but you can use scripts to insert markers at specified distances.

Can you tell me how one could set the grid to correspond to the strong beat of a 4/4 tempo. I typically mark the beat with markers, but it would be nice to use the grid to correspond to the music. Could this be done?

Thanks,

MarcS

only if you knew the exact tempo of the music, could you do this. Then set the Audio Properties> ruler, to that tempo, then set the grid to show quarter notes or measures.
