Beautiful !

Some great photography there. I especially liked the outdoor scenes (the steeple, statue, and particularly the flower close-up). I thought your use of FX were judicious and consistent (the fade to white and slow motion). The music is perfect (hope it's legal). It has reverence and power and is well 'married' (pun intended) to the footage.

The only thing that bothered me was the border. The 'missing' right side border was very distracting to me and makes me think something went wrong in the render.? Also, I question wether the border transparency is a good idea but that's just personal preference.

All in all... a very nice job!

I really liked your wedding clip. Very professional looking:)

Beautiful, outstanding job. Gotta agree with Blues about the " 'missing' right side border ", thought the same thing. Outside of that fantastic work.

One question, were the clouds at the end added ?

The border is there - it isn't missing when I look at it. Thin white line that goes all the way around the frame, right?

Very cool, overall.

The right border is missing when i view it too. Also, the text at the bottom was almost too dark and blurry to read, although i assume it says something like "G Elliott Photography".

The video itself is very beautiful, almost stunning. You definately have the 'eye' for capturing interesting views! It reminded me of the title sequence in "The American President", which is one of the best pieces of filmwork i've ever seen.

I do wonder though, it seems like this piece would be great for promotional material, but it's almost too impersonal as a wedding video. I think we need to see more people and less scenery.

The border is there when I view it in Win Media Player 9.00, and the text is readable. I really liked the effect of the border, BTW.

The editing is superb, very tight and attention keeping.

Since I'm using a VX2000 I was especially pleased to see what you accomplished with similar cameras. Did you use any on-camera filters?

The music was beautiful, but seemed a little too heavy for a wedding. I do realize that we're seeing only a small part of the overall project though, so it's hard to judge the overall musical accompanyment.

Excellent work !!

No I'm not advanced enough to do that with keying, they are all real. Thank you.

That's odd- must be something to do with your media player. I can see the border on all edges here.

Wow- thank you.

I wanted this to serve as a two fold purpose- a short bridal prep and establishing/opening montage. Good point though- the shots of the bride at her house were last minute. I offered her "light" bridal prep coverage free of charge. I think she'll favor it more than simply establishing shots of the church as an opening to the video. Granted if it were a bonified full bridal prep the shots of people are, indeed, a bit thin. Thank you kindly for your input.

Wow, I'm glad you posted this a month before my first wedding video. This is a good piece to learn from...and to watch simply to admire the artistic skill.

I hope you're charging a fortune, 'cause frankly I think that was too good for a wedding video. ;-)

Regarding the white border, it definitely depends on what the viewer is using... In Windows Media Player 9, I get a the full border. In Quicktime Player 6.5, there's only the top and bottom border.

If I drag the file into DVDA, and set the project for fullscreen, the left and right borders are outside the save zones -- with the right border being a little closer to the edge of the preview window than the left border. With the project set to widescreen, everything is within the title save zone.

GMElliot,
Do you live in New Jersey? There's a Minotola in NJ. I live in NJ, and I just HAPPEN to be getting married next July. Perhaps we should talk...

Where are you located in NJ? When is your date in July? I have a booking in July 05, not sure if it's the same date. Email me: g.elliot3tATcomcastDOTnet

Very nice!! I have some of the same types of shots (and the very same intro credit style :( ) on my demo that is as yet unstreamed (I'm working on it, I'm working on it...)

I loved the fade-to-white transitions. Good job all around!

Something else, I like the sun flare across the church in the beginning. The very first wedding I did, I did something like this at just the right time of day so that the sun flare gradually disappeared. It was not by design, just dumb luck. Unfortuanately, the overall quality of footage is not very good - it's from an 8mm ananlog camcorder from a couple of years ago.

But I digress....again, this looks really nice.

<edit> Forgot to also mention, good job cutting to music. I happen to like that effect a lot, and some work I've seen doesn't do it.

Assume job!

I think the music set the pace well and really carries the transistions.

Is that from a RF package? What are you using?

Thanks for sharing!

I would love to see this video.

that's really nice, how cooperative was the Bride? That looked like very controlled setups.

Oustanding job!

But everyone's so hung up on the "missing" right border... what about the missing groom?

Actualyl it was quite the opposite- very uncontrolled. I tried to be as unobstrusive as possible. The only "posed" shot was the shot of her necklace...I had her stand in the light for about 5 seconds to get that shot. Oh well that and the gown being zipped up...that shot was recreated. You don't actually think I was there when she was dressing! lol

Good point. This bride didn't pay for the pre-ceremony coverage option. I gave it to her last minute free of charge. I offer both preceremony coverage of bride- or brida AND groom.

Which Media Player are you all using to view this video. At home on my broadband I only hear the audio (impressive) but the screen stays white throughout the clip. At work I can see a lo-res version but i can't control (or analyze) the player software which is on a "dumb terminal" i.e. no hard drive or access to help files. -Diego
