Can a wave sample name be too long? I'm making a bunch, and it's going to be a drag if I've used illegal characters, or the WAV SAMPLE NAMES are too long for Acid (or other programs).

Do other apps have trouble with underscores: " _ " or long sample names?

Some CD burning software has trouble with long names. I haven't noticed acid having this problem.

I've never noticed problems with long sample names but then I don't use punctuation marks such as periods, explanation marks and the like. I think simple and short is more convenient.

One thing to consider that when burning data CD's there is a limit on the length of a file name, but I'm not sure what it is. 110 characters springs to mind but that is probably a dribbly squishy mind that's out to lunch.

Hope this helps,

Chris (Hunt)

Don't do any copy or moves in dos and you should be fine.

the names of my songs are fairly short.

but the names of my samples can be large: drumguitloop4beats.keygm.soft

things like that. does it all have to be lower case?
