Yeah, I'm curious as well since I just got DVDA2 on Monday. I had some Memorex DVD+RW and DVD+R discs sitting around, and they burned without problems.

Went out last night and bought a 5-pack of TDK DVD+RW which seem to burn fine as well.

But I thought I had read in this forum that some users have trouble burning with DVD-R or DVD-RW under DVDA2a, but then I see posts which some users do seem to be able to use these formats. It's confusing to sort out.

There is no information, scientifically arrived at through controlled testing. However, there is a great database of user anecdotes at DVDrHelp.com, and you can certainly find out what media to avoid. Click here:

It varies from user to user, burner to burner. I love DVDA, but something is really wonky with its burning component. Which is why so many people design and prepare their DVDs with it, but burn with Nero, or Roxio, or something else.

In my case (I have a Memorex +/- RW drive) , I mostly use TDK DVD-Rs, and they work fine. Using DVDA with the same burner to write to a TDK DVD+R gives me a coaster (though I suspect it's just left "open" and maybe I can use another program to "close" it -- I've yet to try this). Others have had the opposite experience with their burners, though I've yet to hear from anyone else using a Memorex burner.

Actually, come to think, I don't think I've tried a DVD+R since I updated to 2.0a. I just got so used to using Nero to burn to them.

Bottom line, you'll just have to experiment and see what works best for your setup.
