Subject:Out of sync audio all too often yet again..

I have 2 camera angles miniDV and DAT audio. All audio/video in VV timeline is lined up 100%. Around 45 minutes I gradually lose sync when previewing the DVDArch-type mpg with it's corresponding AC3 audio in DVDA. When I go back into VV, and render only 30 seconds of the part where it seems to lose A/V sync, it is 100% fine in DVDA...it is only the hour-long version that loses sync. Is there REALLY no fix for this??? WHY does it not hold sync if it is PERFECT on the VV timeline?? Even if I try to compensate with Ctrl-drag-stretch, it is the same issue

Burned lost sync too. The only way it works (BIG waste of time) is render to a new track (in DV format uncompressed) and try to line the audio up again because the new DV format track that VV created is out of sync. Control-stretch does the trick to correct it but WHY do I/we have to waste 3 hours of unnecessary render time?

I take that back, rendering to DV format uncompressed and Ctrl-Drag has NOT worked. There has to be a logical fix for this, for the problem happens too often to too many people. I am not a software design expert, but if the audio peaks line up from different sources I see no reason why they can't ultimately line up in the finished product without going around any faults DVDA has.

I can't promise this will work. Try going into your 'Project Properties' and then go to the 'Ruler' tab. Change to "SPMTE Non Drop (29.97 fps, video) My sync issues disappeared after I did this. I've sync'd up Sony Dig 8 and Canon Hi-8, without any problems. Stayed in sync for the entire duration.
