Remote Controller Setup

Sorry if this has been covered. I have done several searches and can't find an answer. I have a Radikal SAC 2.2 Remote controller that I use with Cubase SX2.0. It seems that I can set this up as a Generic Remote to work with Vegas...Is that true? Can someone give me some advice or point ot the section of the manual that discusses this.

Thanks

Good luck. Radikal hasn't done too well when I was working with a Beta version of Vegas. I've since sold it. But...Radikal never really worked with Sonar, either. Vegas only seems to recognize standard controller messages, and Radikal has their own thing happening. Sexy beast though, isn't it?

It works great within SX. I heard someone post about Vegas having a "learn" function and if that's the case I'm sure I could configure some things within vegas.

It does have a learn mode, which is where you'd do this. I never got it working stable. The Radikal works great in Logic and Nuendo, apparently Cubase too, but it never worked well in Sonar, and in beta, never worked well in Vegas either. Musicator wouldn't even recognize it. Which is why I sold it in favor of yet one more Mackie. I've got 3 Controls now, plus 5 Extenders. Flawless thus far in Vegas. Now if they just had a talkback like the Radikal master box.

Is there anywhere in the manual where it talks about it? I can't find it?

I don't know, still haven't seen the Vegas manual.
Insert a generic controller in the controllers preference, double click on it to access the learn/mapping mode.

The Generic Control driver is discussed in the online help. Warning, it is a general discussion. We are looking at providing a proper tutorial for this.

However, if you have used other host that let you learn, you should be able to map the SAC for use in Vegas.

Thanks for the tip Peter, But I can't seem to find the info? I assume you meant the "knowledge base". Can you give me a link?

Thanks

This reply's a little late, but fire up the Vegas online help and select the Contents tab.

Open the Using Hardware Controllers book and then open Using a Control Surface. There's some general information about setting up a control surface and some more specific info about using a generic MIDI controller.

Thanks,
Kevin
