Does anyone know how you can have a video footage where the presenter is in colour but the background and everything else is in Black and White?

I thought you may have to double up layers etc but not really got it to work...

I'm sure there must be a technique in Vegas... its almost like you want to selet just a section of the video to have in colour...

Any ideas would be most welcome...

Cheers

Using Vegas 4 or 5?
Secondary color correction is the tool to do this with. Very easy, very fast. We've got a tutorial on this on the Sundance site, with a new one coming because it's MUCH different in Vegas 5.

Search for color pass. Or go to www.thetroxels.com/tts/ I believe its in the archived issue 11 tutorial.

I am using Vegas 4. How do you go about doing this then?

Will go onto the sundance site also - wasn't sure if you meant the answer was on there....

Thx for this Spot.

Maybe I'm missing something.... if you have the link the the Sundance website please let me know....

Stuck??!

bolt, which tutorial? Remember that many tutorials were written for Vegas 4. The Parent/Child relationship has changed in Vegas 5 so there are now a couple more steps that must be done if you're using Vegas 5.

Hi there

I am referring to the tutorial that has been mentioned in this thread already above. (not by Spot). It goes through the steps but having done what it says, I cannot see the effect....

I am running Vegas 4 only.

If you're talking about the one in the newsletter, I know the steps do work in Vegas 4. Try them carefully again.
