DVDA2, crash using Fonts

anthony-chiappette wrote on 5/16/2004, 10:08 PM
Maybe because I have too many fonts in my system, but I found a repeatable occurence in DVDA2. If I change the font on a text box by scrolling in the font list box, eventually DVDA2 will just shut down and return me to the desktop. In other words, I scroll through the font list to see how each font will appear on the menu, not just scrolling o select a particular font.

Not a big deal, you just have to be careful when changing the fonts.

We're not able to repro. Can you please post the crash dump? Also, can you post the exact steps you do starting with a new project? Thanks.

How many fonts do you have installed?

I didn't realize there were THAT many, but I have 843 fonts installed.

Where would the crash dump be located? It didn't crash, per se, it just shut itself and returned me to the desktop.

Sounds like there isn't one. When DVDA crashes, it normally provides a dialog with crash information.

I have about 600 fonts installed and I'm not repro'ing at this point. Is there a particular font that it keeps crashing on, or is it crashing on fonts that typically work in the app? (ie - after it crashes on a font - can you go in and select that same font without problems?)

Thanks.

Sony -

So, keep adding fonts until you can repro it. You have about 250 fonts to go.

(Just kidding.)

843...Lordy.

Try as I might, I can't duplicate this problem again.... go figure. That one time, I kept running DVDA2 and trying this, and every time it threw me back to the desktop.

I've tried about half a dozen times now, and it won't happen again. Oh well.
