Ran into an interesting conflict the other day with the Vegas 5 demo. Here's what happened:
Decided to try the 'improved' Vegas 5 capture engine. Plugged in my camcorder and used my computer to just preview the video. I wasn't even capturing at this point, just watching. Set all my options the same way I did in Vegas 4. After approximately 1 minute of preview, the audio started getting out of synch with the video. It got really out of whack, so I went to move my mouse to stop the preview. Instantly my PC speaker shrieked and wouldn't quit, and my entire system completly locked up. CTRL+ALT+DEL didn't work, I had to manually force a restart. So I rewound my tape, got into Vegas 4 to preview. Now, Vegas 4 preview was losing audio/video sync. Again, no actual capture here, just plain old preview. V4 has always previewed fine before. So I un-installed Vegas 5 demo. Now, Vegas 4 works perfectly. Captures, previews fine.
Is there some sort of bug in the Vegas 5 capture engine? Or could it be a conflict with my hardware? And why would V5 mess up V4? Or is it maybe a bug with the demo version? Just thought I'd post it, in case there was an issue that might need to be resolved.
