copying dvd's ive already created

I dont know if this is a purposeful element of the program but I have just made my first dvd with menus etc... and I presumed that once I had one copy I would simply be able to copy it with my normal software that I use for doing films etc... However it says there is some problem finding a file. What makes it more strange is that once dvd's are burned from my project they play perfectly in my standalone dvd player with my tv yet my computer refuses to recognise they are there.

Has anyone had similar problems or know of any possible solutions because it is driving me mad!

thanks
Michael

What program are you using? I have copied many discs made with DVDA 1.0c using Nero 5.5.

If you need to burn more copies you can also
use the "burn" button in DVDA just point to the folder where your
VIDEO_TS is located.

I delete the work in progress files (such as the .AVIs) when the customer
signs off the DVD design but keep the TS folders.

I also have used Nero 5.5 (not 6) without problems.

For my personal archives, I always have to burn a new data DVD in the UDF format, otherwise I can't copy the files back.

Hopefully this bug got fixed in V2 of DVDA, the files aren't UDF compliant when one video segment is split over multiple VOBs. Real pain. There are plenty of apps to kind of get over this but you still shouldn't have to face this issue.

I, too, have never had any problems simply copying the folders from one of my discs back onto my hard drive and using a standard burning utility to make copies from that. You can't do that with a "store-bought" DVD because of the copy protection, but I've been doing this for some time with my own discs.

It will work fine with DVDs you've created IF the the video segmenst haven't been split accross VOBs.
