"custom" template button not doing anything :(

Hi, I reformatted my hard drive and re-installed Vegas 4.0e. Now when I go to "render as" and pick the mpeg1 or 2, when I click on the "custom" button, nothing happens (meaning the edit template window doesn't come up anymore). However, if I pick any other type of file, e.g., wav, mp3, ogg, etc, the custom button works. Anyone know why?

Did you download the V5 trial and/or install SF 7? If you install those to the "sonic foundry" folder instead of the default "sony" then you're liscences get messed up.

No I didn't do either of those, I'm not using V5 yet, sticking to 4 for now, and I didn't install soundforge either. Everything else works , except that one darn custom button which happens to be really important....I know I can just frameserve and use a different encoder, but I liked the batch render script as it was a great timesaver for me, but if I frameserve, then I cant really use that script anymore and will have to sit here and wait for each region to finish and I don't want to do that :(
