Does DVD Architect recognize Memorex DVD-R ? I can't seem to burn with them. When I get to the "Select Burn Parameters" screen, I don't have any speeds to select. I have burned Philips DVD+RW just fine.
Memorex DVD-R is the only blank I've had problems with to date with a LG HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GSA-4040B. DVD-A will burn to them and give a "Success" message but the LG burner will not play it after it burns it. They will play on set top players however.
I have no issues with Maxell or Verbatim - or + (all speeds) R blanks.
Yea, I've had problems in the past with DVDA recognizing Memorex media also, but I think it is more of a problem with my burner, an external Sony DRX-510UL. I've had problems with this burner recognizing Memorex media outside DVDA, as well.
I´m using Memorex DVD-R and burnt about 50 in DVDA with no problems with burning or playing in computer or standalone.
I use Memorex DVD-R ink jet printable.
Tthink it is a burner issue - I use NEC 1300.
The only odd thing is that in DVDA burn window it says 2x or 3,9x and not 4x

Thanks everyone! I have a Plextor 708 and have burned on the Memorex DVD-R's with DVDX Copy with no problems. DVDA won't even give me speeds to choose. I'll try something else. Thanks again!
I have the same exact problem. I tried to use a Memorex DVD-R (part 3202 5510) on a Memorex DVDUR/RW 8412AJ (Memorex Dual Drive 8X (non-True8X)). Is this another bug in DVD Architect 2.0, or is this a firmware problem with the Memorex drive? I'm able to burn fine with the Memorex DVD+RW 4X media (part 3202 5560).
I have the new Sony 700a drive and it won't burn and "-" disks using DVDA2. Other programs (xcopy) will burn "-" discs no problem. I believe the problem is not iwth the dics, but with the DVDA2 software.
I will join the growing chorus of users having problems. I just purchased the Memorex dual format burner that (supposedly) burns at 8x with both the +R and the -R format. I burned both a 4x +R (TDK media) and a 2.4x +RW (Verbatim) with no problems. However, when I put my brand new Memorex 8x DVD-R in the drive, DVDA will not recognize it. When I pull up Nero 6 and ask for Disc Info, it reports an empty DVD-R disk, so I don't think it's the burner or the media.
Ok, I have an update that is happy news. I went to Options->Preferences->General and checked the box that says "Skip drive database and read properties from the drive". This caused DVDA to recognize my 8x DVD-R discs.
