Okay here is one for you audiophiles...
How can I enhance an LFE channe?l..It is reading that there is no level in the mix window.I imported a stereo wav into Vegas for the 5.1 mix and assigned the track to combine channels then I assigned the full wav to the LFE channel...BUT it is getting no readings on the meter.
I would simply like to use the bass of the recording to play from the LFE channel.
Suggestions?
Thank you!
Kelly

Ok, so you imported a stereo wav into a 5.1 project. Exactly how did you assign the wav to the LFE? Open the surround editor on the track, click on the top-right button, verify that the editor shows the text "LFE"? Then you see nothing in the LFE meter?

Makes no sense. You should be seeing something in the LFE meter. BTW, I don't know what you mean exactly by "assigned the track to combine channels".

Truth is that the LFE channel is an "unnecessary" channel. Its only meant for those "over-the-top" bass fx that need some extra headroom. The LFE is not the same thing as a sub-woofer. All relevant bass from the other 5 satellites will also be routed to your subwoofer. So you don't need to fill out your LFE channel to get bass. And you shouldn't duplicate your other tracks simply to add them to the LFE. You understand this? I didn't until last night :-) See video forum thread
