Never having used the demo, but knowing for sure that the MPEG tools are completely disabled due to licensing issues, I'm not sure what you are after here. It's best to uninstall Vegas 3 when installing V4. You aren't required to, but it will load as a separate load. I run both for legacy issues. In other words, they'll run side by side.
Uninstall 4 and reboot, this should repair your problem.

I uninstalled everything and reinstalled vv3.
The capture does not work at all. It controls the cam corder but is unable to capture anaything. It says no video is captured.

Have you specified a drive? Dumb question, but it's usually something small.

In Video Capture->options->preferences->capture you should disable the "Minimum clip length". Hope it helps.

I will check the minimum clip length when I go home today.

I installed in another computer and the capture works in that computer.
In my main computer since the capture suddenly stoppedworking I was wondering whether it was anything to do with microsofts automatic "updates". I also found that I cannot restore the system beyond october 03.
