Hi Friends,

Right now I am just a prospective buyer, newbie, etc. Can you please tell me if the Surround Pack will let allow me to encode 5.1 for Windows Media Format? Or is it primarily limited for DVD's? Thanks a million.

Vegas 4 and ACID 4 can both encode to 5.1 Windows Media, no additional tools needed. If you want Dolby AC-3, you'll need to buy the 5.1 plug-in pack, or DVD Architect (which includes the Dolby encoder).

Thank you much, SonyEPM.

How about that?-- I thought maybe, like with Acid, that it only worked out 5.1 within the application (unless one had the plug-in pack). Now if you please excuse my ignorance as this is unchartered territory for me at present, may I ask what the distinction between the Dolby encoded material would be as compared to the non-Dolby 5.1? Thank you very much.
