Hi Friends,

Can you all please say something about which app might be better for video scoring between SF and Acid Pro? I am awaiting shipment of SF today, but I also have a certain fascination for Acid Pro as well. I'd really like to hear about the advantages/disadvantages of each for this purpose. Thanks!

Sound Forge is a two channel audio editor. I wouldn't use it for scoring at all. I use it to tweak sound effects, foley effect and to "master" the final score. I use the word master very loosely here.

I would (and do) use Vegas for scoring film since I like to see the layout of the video along with the audio.

I sometimes use Acid for concepts (that statement had a totally different connotation ten years ago).

That'd be more than ten years ago, no, vanblah?

---or, maybe our time-perception is still affected...

Thank you, Vanblah.

Your words make sense to me, and like you, I appreciate being able to see the layout of the video with the audio. I believe sometime I would like to get Vegas. The thing is I have just bought both Sound Forge and Acid Pro... which is okay, because it was more than ripe time for me to move on from Magix Music Studio Deluxe. I have been using Media Studio Pro 6.5, which has been very good to me for capturing, encoding, etc., but it's audio editing capabilities are just way too limited for me. So, when I can generate enough money... I just might take a gamble on Vegas.
