where is 'simultaneous play and record' in vegas 4.0d

So, playing around a bit with the 4.0 demo, I seem to ahv elost some functionality compared to 3.0.

I run the digigram vx pocket, using the windows classic wave drivers. It records fine in 3.0, but I need to disable 'simultaneous play and record'. If I dont, I t will let me queu the track up and see levels, but when I hit record to start writing to file, it says 'the device specified is in use'

The option to disable simultaneous play and record is gone in vegas 4.0, and I am seeing the same problem, but I cant disable that feature. where is it?

We took it out as we have full expectation that audio hardware is completely full duplex. This was legacy support for old hardware and drivers that did not support full duplex.

What you are saying is that the VX Pocket does not support full duplex audio?

Hi,
I have a Vxpocket V2 in my laptop and it certainly is full duplex. I do not have vegas installed there though, just Sound Forge and it works GREAT. In fact I prefer mastering there, with the VXpocket, than in my desktop (PIV - Mia card).
What VXpocket do you have? V2, 440?

mine works fine in soundforge as weel, but will only work in vegas 3 if I disable 'simultaneous play and record', and wont work under vv4 using the wave driver. I could use the asio driver in vv4, but I need to run two different vx pockets simultaneously with different samplea nd bitrates, and the asio driver doesnt support this.

If they would just put the 'simultaneous play and record' back as an option, all would be fine, I'm sure
